New year, new workshops

We're so excited to be back after Christmas and, in the first month, to have a couple of great workshops under our belt already:

And so many more to come...

Here are the workshops coming up in the next couple of months that have spaces and are ready for some willing learners to get booking:

Illustration Techniques: A 3-hour class with artist, illustrator and tutor Steve Joyce that's suitable for all abilities. You'll learn a range of techniques used by illustrators. It's £45 and it's this Saturday and there's still time to grab yourself a space but, be quick - book now!

Slab Built Planters: Learn all about hand building with our resident potter, Henry Moore. If you've watched the Great Pottery Throwdown, you'll know it's not as easy as it looks! Suitable for all ages - it's 3.5 hours and it's this Sunday: £50 - book your place now!

Fused Glass Flowers: Always a popular workshop, this is taught by our very own Danielle Hopkinson of our sister company the Stained Glass Studio. Just one place left on our February 4th session, but more places in the repeat class on 6th May. You'll learn the core skills of glass fusing over 3.5 hours and the workshop is £60

Jesmonite Planters: On 18th February from 10am-1pm learn how to mix and pour coloured jesmonite into moulds to create your own unique pieces. Jess from Selfish Designs is your tutor and the price is £45. The last couple of workshops with Jess were hugely fun and a great success - book your place here.

Screen Printing T-Shirts: The perfect introduction to screen printing with the fabulous Sarah from Pop Print Studio. Using the paper stencil method, your workshop price includes two t-shirts which you'll screen print using our t-shirt carousel. 23rd February from 9:30am-3pm, at £50 - this is a repeat workshop and the results from last time were incredible. Book your place here.

Weekend Beginner Stained Glass: Learn about the initial design of your own stained glass panel with Danielle and Ian of the Stained Glass Studio. Get to grips with glass cutting, leading, soldering and cementing and leave, on Sunday, with your incredible stained glass panel. There are still places on this two-day workshop on 25th/26th February, and there are further changes to take part on 25th/26th March, 22nd/23rd April, 20th/21st May. Book your place by clicking each of the links. Your £200 ticket includes all materials and equipment, and lunch and refreshments each day.

Signwriting for Beginners: Wayne Tanswell, master signwriter, and one of only 300 working full-time, professionally in the country and author of two signwriting books, is joining us again for this whole-day workshop suitable for all abilities. Still a few places left on 8th March - for £125, you'll learn a traditional skill that you'll be able to practice and carry on yourself once you leave. Book your place here.

Creative Collage: Our second workshop with artist Steve Joyce, this one is suitable for all abilities and will explore different ways to create your own collages using a range of found and prepared surfaces. 11th March, this 3-hour workshop is £45 - book your place here

Willow Workshops: Join the Coddiwomplers for two willow weaving workshops on 12th March. From 9:30 to 12:30, make a willow boat tray / fruit bowl. In the afternoon, from 1:30 to 4:30, make a tepee bird feeder. Each workshop is £40 and all tools, materials and refreshments are included.

Lino Print: Learn to create prints using a single piece of lino with fantastic tutor Helen Maxfield. Bring your own ideas, or use a template and learn about creating a balanced design, how to safely use cutting tools and how to produce your final print. Leave with several prints, each one using slightly different, experimental techniques. 18th March, 10am-4pm - your ticket is £70 and all equipment, materials, lunch and refreshments are included. Book your place here.

Hand Poured Candles and Wax Melts: New tutor Anna of Wildlight Candles will guide you through the process of making your own hand poured, scented candle to take home. Learn about different waxes, fragrances and tips on candle care for a long-lasting, even burn. All materials provided for this £45 2.5 hour evening workshop on 24th March. Book your place here.

And that's just the beginning...

We've got lots of other workshops on our list, for later on in the year, and new classes are being added all the time. Take a look at all the new skills you could learn and book for yourself, or for a gift for others. Talking of which, we also offer gift vouchers if you'd like to give the gift of creativity but would rather let your friend or loved one choose for themselves.

Keep your eyes peeled on Instagram and Facebook for news of all - workshops as they come on board and, as always, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you to our events and workshops very soon.
