Drop Spindle Spinning

Learn all about the ancient craft of drop spindle spinning. You will learn how to process fibres into usable materials for knitting, crochet or weaving, making 100g for whatever project you have in mind.

From mixed bags of "fluff" to the finished article, you will be guided by Jan Biddle, who works in both traditional wollen fibres and bamboo, a great vegan option. You will be shown how to spin and ply the two balls you make into one 100g mini Hank of yarn.

Finished yarns will be washed and ready to collect a few days later.

This workshop is a wonderful introduction into working with fibres in a traditional way.

All tools and materials are provided, with an option to buy your own spinner and materials to take away and carry on spinning at home!
